The Walking Club!

Walking Club members had a fantastic learning experience in preparation for their upcoming hike in the Nire Valley before Easter. Students met with their guide, Brian from De La Salle Scouts, who outlined the day's format and activities. They engaged in map reading, examined the hike route and gained valuable navigation skills. Additionally, students completed the Leave No Trace online training, earning certificates upon completion. The session was both educational and enjoyable, leaving students excited and well-prepared for their adventure in the Comeragh Mountains.

**Nire Valley Adventure** Today, we set off on an incredible 10km hike through the breathtaking Nire Valley. With stunning scenery and perfect weather, it was a day to remember.  Laughter and conversation filled the air as we took in the beauty of the landscape. A special moment of the day was celebrating TC’s birthday with a delicious cake by the lake—an unforgettable experience for him! A huge thank you to our guide, Brian, for his expert navigation and hiking knowledge. His skills were invaluable and he even treated us to a cup of tea brewed with fresh lake water. Thanks also to SNAs Ivan and Carmel for their fantastic support. Ivan’s boundless energy kept up with the boys and he even brought along a fishing rod to make the most of the lake. Carmel ensured that everyone was well-fed and enjoying the day, always looking out for the group.
With the sun shining down and incredible views shared, it was the perfect day.
